⨞⨞ Back Ahmed Mahmoud New York City, NY ear movies Ahmed Mahmoud has had a long life filled with music. Due to his father being a violinist in the Egyptian orchestra, music has always been in his household. While pursuing a BS in Biology and a minor in Music at William Paterson University, he got the opportunity to play locally with the rock band Datura. This was his first shot at songwriting. Later, Ahmed sang with the Jersey City-based band, Neuspore, and found success with a #1 rating on mp3.com for their song, “Lifetime.” Through Neuspore, Ahmed met longtime friend and drummer, Hank Yaghooti, and began writing and recording with Nelson Downend and James Cardenas. • William Wilson | Beat Kitchen

⨞⨞ Back William Wilson Seattle, WA production wizard A true Renaissance Man and legend of the Seattle music scene, William Wilson is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer. He is recognizable as the charismatic frontman of the bands Audiorotic and Legion Within, and has been a featured artist on recordings and tours with the seminal industrial group KMFDM. Both his electronic and acoustic sets reveal a unique reality, viewed through the lens of political activism, stark introspection, and an ever-present desire to find beauty within chaos. Wilson’s achievements in singing, songwriting, and performing include numerous notable performances and projects. Over his career, he has shared the stage with Voltaire, Gene Loves Jezebel, Peter Murphy, Legendary Pink Dots, Chemlab, Deadfly Ensemble and more. In February 2010, Wilson adeptly covered “Dead Man Walking” and “Space Oddity” for Seattle's annual Dancing on the Valentine benefit to fight Leukemia - his first solo acoustic performance in ten years, which was met with roaring success. As the frontman and lead songwriter of the legendary Seattle band Legion Within, Wilson’s lyrics explored themes of despair, romanticism, and political activism. The band’s final album “Scourge” exhibits some of Wilson’s greatest lyrical achievements, against a backdrop of raw and authentic dark rock. Wilson’s most recent project Audiorotic paired his melodic vocals with sultry bass lines and energetic, electronic rhythms. With a new sound, Wilson’s lyrics took on a more poetic tone, heard in the hopeful romance of songs like “Into Your Light” and “Stars Descend.” This largely synth-based project also solidified his authority as an electronic music producer and audio engineer - clearly displayed by the masterful dance cover of David Bowie’s “Cat People.” Now, he revisits his musical history with this newly-established dark electronic perspective, and is rapidly adding more thought-provoking, sensual hits to his musical canon.

  • Nathan Rosenberg | Beat Kitchen

⨞⨞ Back Nathan Rosenberg Seattle, WA musical storyteller I'm Nathan Rosenberg and I started Beat Kitchen. I'm a 'recovering' New York City jazz musician turned composer, producer, and studio owner. I currently live in Seattle. Amongst the things for which I am proudest are that I've worked, performed with, and produced some of my own heroes. My background spans many genres and I've produced media for all sorts of stuff like records, picture, commercials and video games. Back in 2014, faced with a quickly changing landscape in music production, I began the process of closing my beloved New York City studio, the Doghouse NYC. Desperate to stay creative and eager to innovate, I joined a revolutionary school: SFPC , The School for Poetic Computation . Here, I began a process of deconstructing the way in which creatives approach technical learning. Although I always continued to make music professionally, for nearly 10 years, I have been working on this problem. I have taught at some of the most prestigious audio training institutions in the world, and I have designed their curricula. I have listened to students, I have spoken with teachers, I have watched the industry evolve and grow. But it became clear to me that I would never truly be satisfied until I built something from the ground up — a place steeped in community, mastery, innovation, and the joy that can only come when one has the freedom to make mistakes along the path to creating something beautiful. That was my kitchen, and what I created — I hope — will be yours.
